Our last Kahana Session was A Taste of Spain, a kitchen takeover on Saturday, September 26, 2026. From 4 to 9 PM, Chef Allen, Ate Kaye and the Happy Huts team took over the Kahana kitchen in Cemento and cooked tapas and paella for a long table of guests.

What Was on the Menu?
- Two tapas sets: croquetas bravas with garlic aioli, a peach and anchovy bite, tapenade, meatballs and gambas
- Garlic soup
- Paella Valenciana with chicken and pork, and a proper crispy socarrat at the bottom of the pan
- From Kahana: sangria at the bar and an orange cake
The croquetas bravas were the favourite of @projectmalayatravel, who liked them enough to order a second plate.
Why Tapas?
Tapas are made for slow evenings. You order a few plates, share them, order a few more and keep talking. That is pretty much what a Kahana Session is for, so the menu and the night fit each other well.
What Are Kahana Sessions?
Kahana Sessions are one-night pop-up dinners in our kitchen, each with its own theme and a visiting chef. The menu changes every time. Read more about Kahana Sessions and how to save a seat for the next one.
Are You a Chef Who Wants to Host a Pop-Up?
Kahana Sessions are open to chefs and cooks who want to run a one-night pop-up. You bring the menu and the theme, and we open up the Kahana kitchen and our garden in Cemento for the night. It could be the food you grew up with, a cuisine you have been perfecting, or a menu you have wanted to try out in front of real guests.
To pitch a session, send us:
- The cuisine or theme you have in mind
- A sample menu
- A few photos of your food
- The dates that could work for you
Send us a message through our contact page with “Kahana Sessions” in your message, and we will get back to you to talk it through.
How Do I Join the Next One?
Ask early: message us on Facebook and we will let you know the date, theme and chef as soon as they are set. If you want to stay the night, check room availability at Kahana in Cemento.
